Your step-by-step checklist

  1. Fill out the interest form.

  2. Create a system to communicate with tutees and their parents.

  3. Find an advisor and/or a space that can be used (such as the library), and set a consistent meeting time (e.g. weekly on Mondays, or MWF). We recommend MWF timing like we use.

  4. Develop a system for recording hours. We recommend Google Forms on Google Classroom like we use.

  5. Make an interest form to gather tutors, and reach out to interested students.

  6. Find students/friends to fill the officer roles.

  7. Reach out to elementary/middle schools in your area.

  8. Create social media accounts for your school's Empower chapter.

  9. Gather feedback from tutors and tutees after each meeting.
